The WB-57 is a twin-engine bomber type and surveillance aircraft. It was manufactured by Martin and was designed by Teddy Petter. Its maiden flight was on the 20th of July 1953 and was introduced commercially in 1954. Its primary user was the United States Air Force, Pakistani Air Force, and Republic of China Air Force. The WB-57 was developed from the English Electric Canberra, also a bomber type aircraft. As of today the WB-57F is retired but two are still used by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). It carries the JPL Aircraft laser infrared absorption spectrometer (Alias) instrument. This instrument is used to measure the Earth’s atmosphere. This new technology helps researchers to understand both the water isotopes and the microphysics of clouds. The WB-57F supports further high altitude sampling projects and the development of satellite systems for NASA. And it is said to be an asset to the scientific community. It was designed to meet all the necessary scientific objectives. All airplane models are Hand Carved, Hand Painted Mahogany and come fully assembled with removable desk stand.
